Sixteen Miles

Capp's Novel

Part One

It was very quite.  That was what Jarrow noticed, more than anything.  That was why he liked staying in small towns while on tour.

He yawned and stretched.  But it still early, even if it was light, and he was still tired.  A quick trip to the bathroom and he would be set to sleep for another hour or so.  Sleep was really importaint, especially because he had a concert that night in a city thirty miles away.

The man gazed tenderly at his lover, who was still sleeping peacefully.  He kissed him gently before leaving the room.

Thirty seconds, maybe fourty passed.  But when he reentered the main room, his stomach dropped.

The bed was empty.

"Nio?"  he asked, glancing around.  It wasn't like him.  Nio ... he usually wouldn't wake before noon.  A screeching fire alarm couldn't wake him,  or a bucket of cold water.

"Nio?"  Jarrow glanced into the kitchenette.  He wasn't there.

He panicked.
