"You've marked all our days off on your calander, right, Hannah?  October 11th, 12th, the 24th, and the 31st.  Oh, and we get daylight's saving's time off, but I'm not sure when that is."

"Yeah, I've got it all down," Hannah replied.  "Look, can I ask you a question?"

"Of course.  Unless it's about why they haven't gotten around to making you a key to your apartment, because I really don't know."

"No, it's just -- don't take this the wrong way, but the other girls, they're always talking about whether you're gay or straight."

"What does it matter?"

"I don't know.  I'm just curious, I guess."

"So what's the verdict?  Do they think I'm gay or straight?"

"Well ... Charley says you're gay because no straight girl would ever dress like you, and Cassandra says you're straight because you spend so much time with Otto.  She says that you guys are secretly dating."

The captain shrugged.  "I am dating someone secretly, so close enough, I guess.  What does Haichelle say?"

"She doesn't say much."

"Wow.  That girl hardly ever shuts up.  But anyway, to answer your question, I just am what I am."

"So you're gay?"

She shrugs again.  "I guess you could say that.  If you really want to find out, you should join me in my office ..."
