The next part of my "Captured by Aliens" Story
A K A Stop Worrying Sheila
By Thelma Mary Caroline.
They must not have realized that I was still awake. Kale was sleeping, taking up the whole bed. But I was still awake.
And maybe I was a little too obsessed with what was going on. But how could I have helped it?
I went out into the kitchen to get a glass of water, and noticed that Blaise was on the back porch, smoking. Not smoking, really. She had these little things she called 'caffine sticks,' but they looked like cigerettes to me.
Haichelle was outside sitting next to her.
"What did you and Sheil talk about?" Blaise asked.
"Nothing."
"Don't lie to me."
"She just asked some questions, that's all."
"Questions about?"
I could hear the frustration in her voice, the same frustration that I had felt talking to the woman.
"About us," Hai answered quietly.
"About us? Interesting. I didn't know she cared."
"I didn't tell her anything."
"I know that." She brooded for a moment, taking a drag. "We gotta get outta here. There's too many questions."
"Or you could just tell her."
"Ha. Like she'd believe it. I wouldn't."
"I like it here, though."
"I don't care what you think. Sheila won't want us here forever anyway. We may as well move on now."
"What about Kade?"
"Shit. I didn't think of that." Blaise pauses for a long time. "Well, Kade's got Sheila. I guess things will be okay."
Suddenly, Blaise stood up, and noticed me in the kitchen. She said nothing though; she just quietly lead Hai to their make shift bed on the floor.
I walked about the kitchen, trying to make as little noise as possible. Maybe she thought I didn't hear anything. Maybe she knew that her secret would inevitably come out.
