Another "Captured by Aliens" story

"Go on, knock," Kade said.
"Me? You knock. It's your house anyway."
"She'll get mad at me. It'll be better if she sees you first."
"Why don't you use a key?" Haichelle said.
Kade said, "I don't have a key anymore."
Finally, Blaise knocked on the door. A compact woman answered quickly. Her blonde hair is tangled horrible.
"Oh. Hi. Sheila."
"Blaise," the woman managed, glancing wearily at the women behind her.
"Yeah. Long time no see. Can we come in?"
She nodded, and the three of the walked into the living room. The living room hadn't changed in all the time they'd been gone. The room was bathed in sunlight, and echoed gently. The floor was a patchwork of small rugs, all of which Sheila had made herself. One wall was carefully wallpapered in pea green, while the rest were painted a drab white.
"Is it alright if I get some water?"
"Of course," Sheila said. "Help yourself."
Everyone sat in an uncomfortable silence. Kade and Haichelle said next to each other on one couch, and Shelia sat on the other.
"Is this right?" Blaise called from the kitchen. "This calander. Is it right?"
Sheila nodded.
"But that means only six months have passed."
Again, Sheila nodded.
"And that would mean Kade's been gone a fort night."
"What's a fort night?" Kade asked.
"Two weeks, stupid," Sheila answered.
"Oh my god."
"And I don't know where you've been -- I don't really care. Hanging out with all your girlfriends, I'm sure."
Blaise cautiously raised her hand. "I was fishing in Canada."
It wasn't as though Sheila cared where Blaise was, she knew that. Sheila only cared about Kade because they were 'together.' But a distraction -- any distraction -- was good.
"And you haven't met my girlfriend," Blaise continued, gestering to the red headed woman. "Her name is Haichelle. We met on the fishing boat."
A lie. Of course it was a lie. They didn't met on a fishing boat. Neither had actually been on a fishing boat in their lives.
And Sheila knew. But it didn't matter.
"It's nice to meet you, Haichelle."
The red haired woman nodded.
"She's really shy," Blaise said. "Anyway, listen, Sheila. We don't really have anywhere to stay at the moment. Do you think we could stay her for a little while? I'd give you money and everything to help out."
"Of course you can stay here. You know I would never turn anyone away," Sheila said.
"And Sheil? Do you think you could avoid mentioning to anyone that we're here? I know that I disappeared really suddenly. I'm sure that a lot of people were really upset. I'd rather tell them myself."
"People think you're dead."
"Then let me contact them, okay?"
"Okay. Fair enough. And maybe in exchange you'll tell me where you really were for the last six months?"
Blaise sighed. "Yeah."
